Police are investigating the sudden death of a man in a Dundee street.

Police have sealed off a section of the city’s Lawton Road following the incident, which happened at about 02:00.

A blue tent has been erected in the street while a police command unit and support vehicles are stationed in the area.

Scenes of crime officers arrived at the scene shortly after 10:00 and were seen entering the tent shortly afterwards.

Police are studying CCTV from nearby businesses. Residents have reported hearing sounds of a disturbance in the street.

Stuart Deuchar, owner of Nicoll’s Rosebank Bakery, said: “I got a phone call about 05:45 saying police are wanting to see the CCTV cameras.

“I don’t see the actual thing but I see the people involved.”
