A man is in hospital in a serious condition after three men forced their way into his home and shot him.
The 49-year-old was shot in the stomach at a property on Glebelands Road, Prestwich, Greater Manchester at about 20:40 GMT on Monday.
Three men broke in and fired a shotgun at the man while he was on the stairs. He made his way into the bedroom and called an ambulance.
Police said he has “serious injuries” and have launched an appeal.
Det Insp Matthew Moore of Greater Manchester Police said an investigation has been launched to find out why the men broke into the property.
“He has been left with serious injuries and we need to find the people responsible, so they can be held to account for a callous attack on this man in his own home,” he said.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact the police.
