Four Team Wiggins bikes and kit worth at least £40,000 have been stolen in Cardiff.

A Bolide TT, spare bikes and “several sets” of Zipp 404 wheels were taken from the team’s van between 19:30 BST on Saturday and 08:00 on Sunday.

South Wales Police is investigating the theft, which took place outside the Premier Inn Hotel on Pentwyn Road.

Team Wiggins was in the city ahead of Velothon Wales and tweeted pictures of two stolen bikes.

It said: “Please share see if they can be found”.

Pinarello Bolide TT bikes cost at least £10,000 while Zipp 404 wheels start at £650 each.

Five-time Olympic champion Sir Bradley Wiggins founded Team Wiggins in 2015 to develop young British cycling talent.
